Description

Gajendra Prasad Tumyang was born in 2036 BS in Khewang of ward 7 of Sirijangha Rural Municipality, Taplejung. He has been continuously involved in the political journey of the Nepali Congress and has not pursued any other profession so far. He began his political career through the Nepal Students’ Union, the student wing of the Nepali Congress, starting from the unit committee at Ganesh Secondary School in Khewang. He later became district president of the Nepal Students’ Union, secretary of the Nepali Congress District Working Committee, and eventually district president of the party. Tumyang passed his SLC from Ganesh Secondary School. He also served as chair of the Pathibhara Campus Management Committee. During his tenure, he organised a week-long religious recital to raise funds and upgraded the campus from offering bachelor’s level studies to master’s level. He has also served as executive director of the Pathibhara Area Development Committee. This is his first attempt in a parliamentary election. Tumyang is married and has two daughters.
